Our Mission

Saint Michael School strives to provide Pre-K through 8th grade
students with a strong academic foundation in a structured Catholic
environment. Our goal is for our students to become life long learners
through teamwork, mutual respect and responsibility.

History

Saint Michael Parish School was founded in 1889 by the Dominican
Sisters to educate our children and instill the knowledge and appreciation
of Catholic tradition. We are a private Catholic School dedicated to
academic excellence from Pre-School through Grade 8. Saint Michael
Parish School is a fully accredited Catholic elementary school by the
Archdiocese of Boston Department of Education and the NEASC
(New England Association of Schools and Colleges). St. Michael
Parish School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic
origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally
accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not
discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in
administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, and
athletic and other school programs.

Saint Michael School's aim is to provide our students with the best possible learning experiences. We stress the role of the spiritual, emotional, academic and physical well-being in their daily lives. We seek to educate the whole person. As Christian Educators, our teachers believe they have been given a trust which requires dedication, commitment, patience, peace, justice and love while recognizing also the dignity of each child entrusted to their care.

National Ratings

Results of the National Assesment of Educational Progress (NAEP) and the annual Terra Nova testing programs indicate that students in all Catholic Schools score higher than those in public schools. Saint Michael School consistently meets that challenge too!
